But in our industry no one in network marketing is teaching us the keys are to creating and keeping relationships longer, this is called “Rapport”.

What the heck is rapport? Relation; connection, especially harmonious or sympathetic relation.”

When you develop a strong rapport with someone you just met it makes them feel additional comfortability with you and it definitely helps take the partnership to a whole new level. Just think about it, you can’t own a good relationship with anybody if there is no chemistry. The stronger your rapport, the stronger the connection becomes.

But how do you go about creating rapport? There’s a whole lot on this topic that I’m sure you might find it quite fascinating just by reading this blog post. We would like to shine some light on key strategies for constructing greater rapport as a network marketer or online marketer.

You must align yourself physically depending on the case by case situation. For example, in a one-on-one MLM presentation offline you are sitting across from the other person aka your prospect. You now sharing a space that is aligned with your bodies identical path. Whenever you align your bodies, your going to feel like your in sync with eachother and can naturally feel more comfortable to have a conversation.

Bet you never thought it’s more to it when it comes to a meet and greet One-On One but there is and that’s why we wanted to write here about it on this post.
As long as you don’t go overboard and start invading private space, matching alignment is a wonderful solution to make absolutely everyone really feel a little bit far more comfortable.

It’s much easier online with video chat because both of you are sitting and can see eye to eye shoulder to shoulder.
Rapport Building Hack |Posture Yourself To Match The Other Person

All this means is to match how your body is positioned, for the other person’s posture. Is his or her head slightly down and his or her shoulders slumped? Then that’s what yours need to be as well. Or is his or her head up and his or her chest up and out? Yours needs to be as well. Are you getting it?

Just like matching physical alignment, whenever you match your posture to the other person, you feel far more in sync with the other person your connecting with.

But in addition like matching alignment, you need to accomplish this slowly and subtlety. Do not make it obvious, or you will get noticed and it will turn into an awkward situation. We know how that can be as we been through it ourselves in the past during our MLM days. Keep in mind you don’t have to be identical like if they are looking into a mirror so make sure to put in your own “swagger”.

When the person you’re talking to shifts his or her weight to his left leg in a chair, you now shift your weight slightly to match. If he or she crosses their legs, you could possibly rest your ankle on your knee instead of the feminine leg cross. It does not have to be exactly like them just be gradual.

Rapport Building Hack | Match Your Tone

Have you ever been relaxed for half the day and then suddenly your mother calls you with some news and talks like Speedy Gonzalez? Suddenly your relaxed state turns your conversation into a fast paced talking dialog just like your mothers. Well that’s what happens to me, must be because I am latina but energy reflects energy.

My point is when your going to implement this strategy, you need to match your tone of voice to the other persons. It could happen fast and ongoing or it can be slow and gradual. You won’t know until you hear the other person speak, and you can identify and match their energy.

 

Rapport Building Hack | Match Up To The Way The Person Moves

Ever notice how people talk with their hands once they get genuinely excited. Public speakers do this alot, just watch some videos by Anthony Robbins, Bob Proctor, or Jeffrey Combs.
Some people just don’t prefer to move at all. What ever the situation is you want to match it as best as you can.

Just think about, you prefer to speak with large sweeping, hand gestures, however the person you are speaking to barely moves at all. There’s going to be some imbalance there, and it’ll be complicated to build rapport with them.

Learn by watching and picking up around the other person’s movements and gradually adjust your individual movements to the other person your talking to.

 

Rapport Building Hack | Match Emotions

Ever told someone a funny joke and then all of a sudden you are the only one laughing and not them? That’s what it feels like when you don’t match emotions and feelings with your prospect. 2 years ago, my podcast was featured in “The Ahauldri Show” on BlogTalkRadio.com, and it was such a huge deal for me because I was super excited and bringing on the bubbly personality I own! I was discussing some important and exciting news for another entrepreneur and their reaction was like,

“Eh..That’s good”.

What? That was it. It was disheartening. There I was on radio sharing such amazing news, and he wouldn’t share the same excitement with me, what a kill joy!. But, this is my point exactly imagine if we went back in time and could do it all over again. The person would have been excited just like I was to share the news and then we both would have a more of an improved and hilarious conversation on the topic.

Nevertheless it works the other way around as well. You might get yelled at, the ideal issue to perform is remain calm and tell that person that he or she must calm down. But that doesn’t work, if anything happens you yell back doesn’t it just tends to make the situation worse. Have you ever told a genuinely angry particular person to calm down? It just makes them even more upset and ticked off.

In the business world when a prospect or client is upset or genuinely frustrated, it’s quite a bit improved to align with the emotion first. This doesn’t mean you agree with what your angry prospect is saying, just that you simply understand he, or she is upset. So if your prospect or client is yelling and cussing at you, raise your voice too. Don’t start yelling to match, but take your tone of voice and their frequency and state your objection or solution. After you are on the similar level, you are able to bring the conversation back down by slowly beginning to reduce the degree slowly to your voice.
